ACADEMY OF SCIENCE – ST. LOUIS
The Academy’s programs are focused on scientific outreach, education, resource sharing, and the recognition of scientific accomplishment.
We fulfill our mission to promote the public understanding of science by offering a broad range of science speakers, tours, and community-wide public talks, workshops and citizen science events catering to all ages and backgrounds.
Awards
Since its inception, the Academy has promoted the recognition of the impressive scientists of St. Louis. This tradition continues with the 26th Annual Outstanding St. Louis Scientists Awards. Each award-winner represents both an extraordinary caliber of expertise and a dedication to fostering science literacy.
BioBlitz
The Academy of Science – St. Louis BioBlitz is an exploration and inventory of the biodiversity of urban parks. Teams of public volunteers led by biologists, naturalists and environmental enthusiasts search natural areas, listing as many different species as they can find. Fellows
The Fellows of the Academy of Science – St. Louis is a prestigious association of St. Louis scientists and engineers of national reputation. Many Academy Fellows are recipients of the Academy of Science – St. Louis Outstanding Scientists Awards, including the Peter H. Raven Lifetime Achievement Award, Science Leadership Award (Individual), James B. Eads Award, Trustees Award, Academy Fellows Award and George Engelmann Interdisciplinary Award. Junior Academy of Science
More than 400 middle and high school students from public, private and home schools across the region experience hands-on opportunities in science, engineering and medicine through the Junior Academy. Click here to learn more about how to get involved with the Junior Academy of Science.
Science Careers Explorations
Students in grades 6-8 explore STEM careers and experience the interdisciplinary nature of science today in these FREE, fun and fast-paced high-impact small group sessions scheduled throughout the school year. Fully funded by Academy donors, STEM Career programs are offered at no cost to schools in the region and directly impact more than 1,500 students at a pivotal time in their lives when they are laying the science and technology path for their futures. Science Fair
The Academy of Science – St. Louis Science Fair is inquiry-based learning at its best! St. Louis students follow their passion as they explore the world they live in and make real world connections. Science Fair is the perfect platform to support and showcase classroom research as Missouri teachers prepare for the Next Generation Science Standards and students develop into confident STEM-capable learners. Science for the Public
Since 1856, the Academy of Science of St. Louis has been a leader in the advancement and integration of science and technology into contemporary society. Teen Science Cafe

Registration for, attendance at, or participation in Academy of Science – St. Louis programs and activities constitutes an agreement by the registrants to allow the organization to use and distribute (both now and in the future) the attendee’s image or voice, in photographs, video, electronic reproductions, and audio of such events and activities.
The Academy of Science & its partnering organizations do not endorse any company, institution, or individual, but present science speakers, community-wide public seminars, talks, and workshops, to increase awareness and understanding of science and its powerful role in our public & private lives.
