Help us take a snap-shot in time of the bees of Forest Park! Get outside on Saturday, June 16, to kick off National Pollinator Week and join the Saint Louis Bee Brigade in a ‘photo survey’ to photograph all the bees we see at different locations in the park. Photographs will be uploaded to the citizen science database, BeeSpotter. From here, scientists can use these photos to help determine how and why bee populations are changing in the St. Louis region.
We need your help to make this a successful survey! Get outside and join us for this science-in-action citizen science research effort to save the wild bees! You’ll learn a bit about bees and bee biology and how to photograph these critically important and declining pollinators!
St. Louis BeeBlitz is presented in partnership with the St. Louis Bee Brigade, a citizen science BioBlitz collaboration of Webster University, The Academy of Science of St. Louis, Saint Louis University, BeeSpotter of the University of Illinois, and Forest Park Forever.
