“Changing the Face of Medicine” an Exhibit and Panel Discussion at Washington Unversity School of Medicine
Thursday, September 3, 2009 @ 4:00 PM-6:00 PM
Although ‘Changing the Face of Medicine’ focuses on women in medicine, its lessons about persistence, dedication and courage in one’s life choices speak to everyone – men, women, young, old – and to people in all lines of work.
Junior Academy students and their families are invited to this touring exhibit followed by a panel discussion featuring Dr. Jessie Ternberg!
Two interactive kiosks traveling with the exhibition offer access to the National Library of Medicine’s “Local Legends” website which features outstanding women physicians from every state, including Jessie Ternberg, M.D., Ph.D., Academy of Science-St. Louis, Fellow; professor emerita of surgery in pediatrics at the WU School of Medicine! Dr. Ternberg will participate in the panel discussion!
What a great opportunity to inspire the next generation of scientists in St. Louis!
