Featured Speaker: Dave Robertson, Ph.D., Professor and Fellow, Public Policy Research Center, University of Missouri – St. Louis; Political Analyst, KSDK Television
Political Science Professor and Public Policy Fellow, Dave Robertson, takes a look at the history of the proposition that man-made emissions are contributing to change in the global climate and looks at the evidence presented to support this claim today. He talks about the development of policy toward climate change, including the Rio conference of 1992, the Kyoto treaty, state and national responses in the 2000s, and the current status of “carbon trading” proposals in Congress. And he’ll explain the arguments of global warming skeptics and discuss the view of Bjørn Lomborg, the Danish author of The Skeptical Environmentalist, that it will be too costly to change the situation.
