How a Hat Saved a Cat

Wednesday, October 1, 2014 @ 7:30 PM-9:00 PM

Free

Since 2000, Brad Rutherford has been the director of the Snow Leopard Trust where he has drawn on his experiences in the private, public and nonprofit sectors to develop conservation programs that protect snow leopards and improve the lives of local communities in the cat’s range.

For the past 15 years, Brad Rutherford, Director of the Snow Leopard Trust, has worked to turn people/wildlife conflict into people/wildlife prosperity. The Snow Leopard Trust takes a business-oriented approach to conservation. It is creating programs that protect snow leopards and bring benefits to the communities who share the land with the cats every day. Whether it’s insuring livestock, turning raw wool into beautiful handicrafts or other innovative programs, the Trust is bringing a successful new approach to age-old conservation challenges. Join us to talk more about the endangered snow leopard and the programs being developed to save them.
