Hoots, Squeaks, and Creeks: An Evening Adventure in Forest Park!

Junior Academy members join scientists/enthusiasits and endangered species biologist for an Evening of Adventure. You may participate in any or all of this event!

4:00 pm – 5:00 pm World Water Day
Join CH2M HILL, a local engineering, construction, and operations firm, in increasing awareness of water quality issues through support of World Water Monitoring Day. Geologists, engineers and other scientists will be on hand to discuss the significance of the sampling. We will use different methods to collect the data, and discuss important scientific concepts such as accuracy, precision and reproducibility of the results.

CH2M HILL designed many aspects of the new waterways throughout the park and established water quality objectives and best practices to improve the water quality of the park and enhance the biodiversity of the system.

5:45 Owl Prowl (and meet again after dark!)
Led by Mark Glenshaw, BioBlitz Citizen Scientist Award Winner, naturalist and Owl enthusiast, will reveal the secrets of a family of great horned owls he has followed for several years! Then, after dark, he’ll lead an owl prowl to show them in their natural habitat.

6:30 Bat BlitzJoin the hunt for endangered bats in Forest Park! An
Endangered Species Biologist will catch bats and teach
students the tricks of navigating in the dark and hunting by sound.

RSVP by September 22nd for any or all of this Evening of Adventure! Parent or Guardian need to attend this event with their child.
