Location: Shaw Nature Reserve, Gray Summit, MO (Directions will be e-mailed to you as it gets closer to the event)

Don’t miss the Academy of Science – St. Louis Star Party!
Speaker: Rich Heuermann, St. Louis Astronomical Society and NASA Solar System Program Ambassador, will provide an overview of the night sky. Be prepared to stay up late! Let’s hope for good weather and a clear sky as Rich will bring his high-power telescopes! If it is a cloudy or rainy evening – don’t worry – lots of inside activities planned! Bonus: Guided night hike & Geocaching!

Open to Junior Academy members and their families. (Junior Academy members are students in Grades 6-12. Join now so that you can attend the Star Party! Click here for membership details)
Siblings need to be age 7 or older. Students need to be accompanied by at least 1 parent or guardian.
Cost is minimal at $31 each – includes:
- Welcome supper
- Night in log shared log cabins
- Geocaching
- Guided night hike
- Night Sky program and telescope viewing
- Refreshments: supper-snacks-continental breakfast
Lodging in wonderful historic log cabins – All cabins are air-conditioned and have a private bathroom. Each family will have their own room. No individual cabins available. Showers available in modern shower house.
Prizes for students who count the most shooting stars! (Hint: 150 is the record!)
