Exclusive
behind-the-scenes tour!

Become an expert at recycling and learn more about what happens when you recycle!  Today you will get to speak to scientists and engineers as you head out for an investigative behind-the-scenes tour of our region’s state-of-the-art multi-million dollar recycling facility.

Students will meet with engineers!

Engineers will speak about the engineering advancements used in the process of collecting and sorting recyclable materials. You will learn what items you can and cannot recycle (the answers may surprise you!).

You will also hear from a team of geologists, biologists, chemists, and engineers who will explain what happens to the trash that cannot be recycled. Learn about clarification and ultrafiltration of leachate and other complex engineering processes.   Many exciting careers in science and engineering will be explored today!

This event is FULL. Registration is closed.

Students need to currently be in Grade 6 -12 to attend.
