This short walking tour and interactive session explores the Grand Center Arts District. Learn about the Grand Center Green Streets Initiative, see the newly renovated Sun Theater and visit the new studios at local radio station KDHX.
St. Louis continues to undergo revitalization with a focus on “Sustainable Development” to meet the needs of the present while contributing to the needs of future generations. More than just a destination to enjoy a performance, Grand Center is developing a holistic community around the arts. Explore how St. Louis art and education institutions are changing the urban landscape of St. Louis.
Urbanshed is an On Science offering of the Power of Place: Sustaining our Food, Water and Urban Landscapes Series
Programs may be taken individually or as a series. Through trips and tours around town, discussions and activities, explore green ideas, ethical considerations, actions you can take, and sustainability efforts in the St. Louis region. Each program ends with an analysis in which you apply what you just learned to a current project.
Registration required. $14 per person. Enroll in all three remaining programs in our Power of Place series for just $36 and save $2 per program. OPEN to ALL. Space is limited. Middle and high school students welcome.
