The Junior Academy of Science is a unique, cohort-based program that guides students in grades 8-11 through a full year of scientific research. Participants develop their own research projects from start to finish, culminating in a presentation at the Junior Academy Research Colloquium.
What to Expect
Students meet one Saturday each month at leading academic and industry institutions across St. Louis. Each session is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience.
Fostering Future Leaders in STEM
A core part of our mission is to ensure every student can see themselves in a STEM career. We know that confidence and a sense of belonging are critical for success. That’s why we make a conscious effort to partner with labs and researchers from diverse backgrounds, providing students with mentors and role models who reflect our community. By connecting young learners with professionals in the field, we are building the workforce of the future and closing the representation gap in STEM.
The Junior Academy didn’t just teach me about science; it showed me that I could be a scientist.
